Style Post: Vintage Fringe Queen.

Top and skirt: thrift store finds/ Shoes: Go Jane
“Style is knowing who you are, what you want to say, and not giving a damn” ― Gore Vidal
I found this skirt last weekend at a thrift store and wouldn't allow myself to pass it up. It's light weight, has a little texture to it, metal studs, and best of all: fringe!  Vintage fringe finds make me tingly all over. I decided the high waisted nature of the skirt would be cute with this black bandeau top with a mesh panel and a pair of strappy black sandals. All black everything.

Have you found anything awesome lately while thrifting?

Style Post: Peter Pilotto x Target Look 3.

Beanie: Forever 21 / Top: Peter Pilotto x Target /  Jeans: old / Shoes: Go Jane
“So soon as a fashion is Universal, it is out of date.” -Marie Von Ebner-Eschenbach
If you aren't paying attention to what's going on in the fashion world, then you can find yourself completely out of the loop in like 2 months. I'm talking, you're wearing shit that absolutely no one is checking for. Fashion never stands still. It's a constant race to see who can be most cutting edge and fashion forward. And season after season, we get something new to swoon over and talk about. But there are only a few that are willing to be the guinea pigs and go out and sport these new looks. And then the people that were paying attention follow suit. And then it gets to a point where everyone's caught on. And by that time, designers and fashionistas have been on-to-the-next for months. It's weird like that, huh?

Anyway, this is one of my favorite looks that I put together from my Peter Pilotto x Target items. :)

Style Post: Peter Pilotto x Target Look 2.

Blouse: Peter Pilotto x Target / Skirt: F21 / Heels: Go Jane / Clutch: by me :)
"Don’t be into trends. Don’t make fashion own you, but you decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way you live." — Gianni Versace
Hey guys! If you read Monday's Style Post, you already know that this week, each of my style posts will feature one Peter Pilotto x Target item.  This outfit's item is this amazing button-up floral print and lace blouse. I love the contrasting colors in the blouse and the sheer sleeves! Rather than pair it with bottoms that matched the top, I thought an olive green skirt would be fun with bold, blood orange heels.

Style Post: St. Patty's Day.

"Fashion is architecture: it is a matter of proportions." -Coco Chanel
Yesterday was St. Patrick's Day. Which for me, only brought back memories of The Luck of the Irish on Disney Channel. I wore this outfit to work; throwing together two bold prints. I think it works because both articles of clothing have a solid color with black printed patterns. It's color blocking, just with patterns. Additionally, in my attempt to create a pop of color (with the green), somehow I began wearing the Irish flag. Awkward.

Happy Friday!

I feel like in our society, people will only allow you to express singular aspects of yourself. If you're a man, "look like a man" and "act like a man." If you deviate from any norms, then you're a weirdo and they don't know what to do with you. But who cares about those guys.

Dope Shoe Alert: Spring Platforms.

Untitled #180
I love these quirky little shoes. With the chunky white platform sole and mule-like quality, it's a definite win in my book. Go Jane is selling these on sale here for under $80. And they would be perfect for the Spring and Summer months. So what do you think...

Are you feeling these shoes?

Peace and have a lovely weekend.

Style Post: Mondo Poof and Cut-Out Boots.

Hey guys!

It's been a minute since my last OOTD post, but I'm back at it. This is an older Outfit of the Day I did while playing around with some new hairstyles. I'm still transitioning my hair from relaxer's so I've been trying to find styles that work for me right now. I call this the "mondo poof" .....for obvious reasons.

In this OOTD, I'm really loving the shoes! I got these new cut-out booties from GoJane.com. I can never stay away from that site for too long. The top is Forever21 and skirt is from Marshalls.

Styled by LMo: Senorita Top and Purple Socks.

I just want to be free. Free to express myself knowing that I may be judged.

If you are interested in making pretty outrageous personal style choices, you have to be willing to put yourself out there. Your style is up for constant judgement...but that's the point right? To create an unspoken dialogue between strangers or friends. Forcing people to be conscious about what you're wearing because you don't look so normal. I enjoy playing with clothes because it truly is fun for me and there is an art to doing it right. I'm working on perfecting that part of my craft now.

Outfit of the Day: Look 3 Festival of the Photograph.

Sup guys.

Me and Amanze headed downtown yesterday for Charlottesville's annual Look 3 Photo Festival. It was really cool last year, so it was definitely something we were looking forward to. Couldn't stay out all day because we had to hit up the UVA resident's graduation dinner *snores* but it was a good day.

Since I'm transitioning my hair to natural, I'm trying to keep off the heat and wear some of the more hair friendly styles I like. This one's a favorite of mine. :)

Outfit of the Day: Spring Skulls.

Shorts: Hollister /Jacket: Thrift Store Find /Socks: Urban Outfitters /Loafers: GoJane.com /Beanie: GoJane.com /Bag: Urban Expressions
Sup guys. I'm going back home to STL for my brothers graduation. Woo hoo. My boyfriend's brother is also graduating the same day so we'll be hitting up KC to celebrate with his family as well. It's gonna be a great vacation filled with family and friends. Shit. will. pop. off. Only the good shit though. Oh yeaa.

This is an outfit I styled from random pieces in my closet. I mostly merge old and new things to create new looks. I could entertain myself in my room for days on end just making up new outfits. Now I just have to figure out where I'm going to wear this.

I Might Wear Something Like This....

The Casual Rocker.

Mary Katrantzou Printed jersey T-shirt, Yves Saint Laurent Leather biker jacket, Faith Connexion Metallic stretch-denim, Nike Dunk Sky Hi suede wedge sneakers, Etro Crystal-embellished rabbit-felt fedora, Adia Kibus Resin Skull Ring, Bakers Stretch Spikes 2 Bracelet, Marni Shades

This fall, you should really utilize some of the fun trends of the season.
I'm not HUGE on focusing on trends because I wear whatever I want regardless, and so should you, but it is what it is.

With that being said, several of these pieces are trends this year like wedge sneakers, printed tees, leather, and metallic.

Metallic, metallic, metallic.
It's going to be big this season but especially popular in the spring.
If you find any fun metallic pieces at a steal while the seasons are changing, I'd definitely cop.
It will be worth it once spring rolls around.

I like matching things together that typically wouldn't go together.
For instance, the olive green suede wedge sneaks with the flashy metallic denim.
A little contrast goes a long way.

With an outfit like this, I'd probably go on a lunch date in the city or to a chill concert on a cooler night.

Now I realize most of us aren't balling out of control, so I've researched the look for less.
Still gets the point across and saves a ton of dough.

Happy shopping.

Statement Necklaces.

1. Shourouk Gilda Silver Plated Swarovski Crystal Necklace 2. J. Crew Three Station Crystal and Bead Necklace 3. Marni Crystal and Paillette Confetti Necklace 4. Lulu Frost Demeter Collage Resin and Glass Necklace 5. Oscar de la Renta 24-karat Gold-Plated Leaf Necklace 6. Eddie Borgo Gold-Plated Triange Necklace

This is one trend you don't want to miss out on. I want to see every one of you fabulous people in beautiful bold necklaces this season! How fun is this? I mean, foreal?

Whether you're wearing a nice blazer, a tee, or a sweatshirt, it will accent anything you have on. Giving it a very decent bit of interest. However huge, sparkly, and/or spikey, get your necklace groove on.

While all the necklaces in the first set are dope, they're hella pricey. Refer to "The Bold Look for Less" for a more realistic view. I tried to keep it under $100, but Betsey Johnson made me go against my word. :)
