Androgyny is not trying to manage the relationship between the opposites; it is simply flowing between them. -June Singer
Happy Friday!

I feel like in our society, people will only allow you to express singular aspects of yourself. If you're a man, "look like a man" and "act like a man." If you deviate from any norms, then you're a weirdo and they don't know what to do with you. But who cares about those guys.

Whether you're male or female, we all carry feminine and masculine qualities about ourselves, which is the basis of androgyny.  For instance, I can be quite the quirky girly girl at times, but literally the next day, you may question my sexuality. But I love expressing myself in any way I want. I feel like you have to be in touch with how you're feeling from day to day and express yourself accordingly. Be who you are...all of it.

Since I did my big chop back in October 2013, I've been anxious about finding styles that work with my new short hair. I was feeling experimental and decided to try some chunky twists.  I really liked the way it turned out, even though it took about an hour to do. They lasted 2 days before I took them down and wore a twist out, which also turned out perfect.

I was equally excited to be able to fit a hat over my usually huge hair. Those are the things you don't think about when you go natural...because in the right situations with a beanie on, I look like a genuine rasta, hehe.

Have a great weekend.
