Style Post: Peter Pilotto x Target Look 4.

Top: Peter Pilotto / Shorts: Thrifted / Socks: Urban Outfitters / Shoes: Go Jane
"I like being a woman, even in a man’s world. After all, men can’t wear dresses, but we can wear the pants." - Whitney Houston
Here's the final look that I styled around my Peter Pilotto two-tone floral t-shirt. I still can't get over how reasonable the prices for this collection were. With the reds, blues, and white, there are a ton of ways you can style this top. I chose to complement the colors by wearing high-waisted blue shorts, over-the-knee socks, and black jellies.

Socks & sandals are something I've never shied away from, so when I got these jellies in the mail the other day, it was basically go time in my mind. I'm so excited 90's fashion is a big enough deal that they're selling jellies again. Because Lordt knows I used to have a clear pair with glitter that I couldn't get enough of.

Cheers :)

“So soon as a fashion is Universal, it is out of date.” -Marie Von Ebner-Eschenbach
If you aren't paying attention to what's going on in the fashion world, then you can find yourself completely out of the loop in like 2 months. I'm talking, you're wearing shit that absolutely no one is checking for. Fashion never stands still. It's a constant race to see who can be most cutting edge and fashion forward. And season after season, we get something new to swoon over and talk about. But there are only a few that are willing to be the guinea pigs and go out and sport these new looks. And then the people that were paying attention follow suit. And then it gets to a point where everyone's caught on. And by that time, designers and fashionistas have been on-to-the-next for months. It's weird like that, huh?

Anyway, this is one of my favorite looks that I put together from my Peter Pilotto x Target items. :)

"Don’t be into trends. Don’t make fashion own you, but you decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way you live." — Gianni Versace
Hey guys! If you read Monday's Style Post, you already know that this week, each of my style posts will feature one Peter Pilotto x Target item.  This outfit's item is this amazing button-up floral print and lace blouse. I love the contrasting colors in the blouse and the sheer sleeves! Rather than pair it with bottoms that matched the top, I thought an olive green skirt would be fun with bold, blood orange heels.

Sweatshirt: Peter Pilotto x Target / White jeans: Target / Heels: Forever 21 / Wallet: Deu Lux
Peter Pilotto creates fun designs with the most amazing patterns that would normally be too expensive for the average gal to afford. Thanks to designer collaborations with stores like Target and H&M, we get high fashion designs that are now also affordable. Just as a reference point, a Peter Pilotto sweatshirt is normally $800, while this one retails $30. Bonkers, I know.

I planned on buying something from the Peter Pilotto for Target collection, maybe an item or two, but I ended up walking out of there with 4 things. I've styled each of those pieces in the way I thought was best for me. Be sure to check back throughout the week to see each look.

Did you get anything from the Peter Pilotto x Target collection?

Peter Pilotto x Target.

British brand Peter Pilotto has teamed up with Target for their first designer collection of 2014. The line is colorful with bold prints and patterns and perfect for spring. With most pieces under $60, this collection is truly affordable and would make an adorable Valentine's Day gift. Items include slip on tennis shoes, totes, swim suits, beach towels, sunglasses, dresses, tops, and bottoms....the full spectrum.
"Our brand is about print, yes, but it's also about the emotional feeling you can get from color & color combinations."- Peter Pilotto
