Solange's Japanese-Inspired Shoot for The Ground Magazine.

Photog: Seiji Fujimori
Styled by Nick Nelson, Solange is giving major Japanese glam in The Ground magazine's Issue #4. In the issue, she talks about her music journey, fashion, natural hair, and inspiring others. She says:
“It’s interesting that genres even still exist. How do you define pop or indie or R&B when the Internet gives us exposure to so much these days? I don’t see the point of trying, but it’s exciting to experience the beautiful evolution of music and I’m honored to be part of it,” Knowles reflects. “Even as a young girl, I listened to so much. I went through an angsty Alanis Morissette phase, and then I had an electronic phase, [and] then my Rasta phase. I would listen to Houston rappers like Kiki and Big Moe at the same time as Björk. I’d get teased at school but it’s great … that sort of thing isn’t questioned anymore.”
I can definitely relate! Head over to thegroundmag.com for the full interview, and check more pics from the shoot below.

Harper's Bazaar: "Solange: The Cool Girl on the Block."

"For the first time in my life, I'm basing every decision around the idea of whether I want to do it or if I think it will be inspiring. And that's paid off for me." -Solange
Styled in Moschino, Ralph Lauren, Chanel, Marni, and Manolo Blahnik, Solange owns her latest shoot with Harper's Bazaar. I'm loving every style, with the Moschino jumpsuit and Chanel dress being my favorites. And that hair is doing everything and more.

Black in the Day: Betty Davis.

Black History Month has inspired me to start a new year-round series highlighting influential, stylish African Americans from back in the day. I wanted to debut this series with funk queen Betty Davis. She was a model, funk singer, writer, and all around badass. I mean, look at these pictures.

Erykah Badu for Givenchy is Everything You Imagined and More.

First of all, Erykah Badu is my baby mama and a certified queen! I love her gorgeous face. Is she even wearing makeup at all? I mean, who knows.

She does this campaign so much justice with her natural beauty and grace. I definitely appreciate the way they shot these looks. Givenchy tends to be so hard and edgy, but they softened it up this time with ethnic accessories like turbans and bold jewelry. This Fall 2014 collection is supposed to draw from African and Japanese influences, and I'm so on time for all of it.

Look out for these shots in the French publication Purple Magazine.

What do you think about Givenchy's latest campaign with Miss Badu?

M.I.A x Versus Versace Capsule Collection.

Exuberant ass M.I.A. has teamed up with Versace to create a collection inspired by knock-off Versace pieces. Ingenious? Yes. Hoodrat? Probably. Will everyone and their mother (including me) want a piece of this collection? In-deed.

M.I.A. is collaborating with Versace to create a capsule collection for their more affordable line Versus Versace. Sounds interesting right?

Ciara Covers Paper Magazine Looking Like a Beast.

Christian Siriano and Natalie Joos tops. Marc Jacobs shorts. Christian Louboutin heels.

Excuse me Miss Thang!

Ciara is looking like a whole bag of delicious on the cover of the September issue of Paper magazine. I am not in the least bit mad. She recently switched up her short blonde do for a full bodied wavy look. Even though I was a fan of her previous hair style, this looks grown and classic and frankly, it works....I wonder if she decided to change once Beyonce did practically the same short blonde bob. Hmm.

Photographed by Danielle Levitt, this shoot is styled to the T with designers like Christian Dior, Christian Siriano, Jeremy Scott, and custom pieces by Natalie Joos. Who is this Natalie Joos you ask? Welp, she's the dope-phi-dope stylist behind this shoot.

Miley Covers June Issue of ELLE UK.

I came to the conclusion several months ago that Miley Cyrus is that deal, and is certainly not one to be written off solely based on her Disney days as Hanna Montana. Great body, talented, and has definitely figured out what works for her hair. Initially, her locks looked pretty awkward to, I think, everyone, but after letting the top grow out a little more, she's found the perfect recipe.

Katy Perry in D&G at Coachella.

When I first saw this photo, first off, I was like damn, but second I was thinking WHO is she wearing?! Miss Perry is rocking this outfit fabulously like a real playa should and it's all thanks to Dolce and Gabbana.  D&G Spring 2013 had such an ethnic Latino feel to it, and was just gorgeous. I'm surprised more people haven't been spotted in the collection. I love it!

Katy looks absolutely gorgeous and I think Coachella was the perfect place to wear such an outfit. She is out there undoubtedly pooping on hoes. Quite unfair really. But I am NOT mad....nope, not one bit.

Terry Richardson's Rolling Stone Outtakes with Rihanna.

Terry Richardson, the photographer behind many of Rih Rih's photoshoots, released some outtakes from his and Rihanna's latest shoot for Rolling Stone.  They show the duo goofing around while Rihanna channels a skinny Missy Elliot with her baggy trashbag-esque jacket and bucket hat. And Terry Richardson with the thumbs up...he's so adorable though, lol. Of course Rihanna is smoking on something...anything...as long as it smokes. And her tongue and boobs are out. Anybody surprised?

The only interesting thing about this shoot is that Egyptian tattoo. Somehow I missed that one. I'm getting just a smidge bored with Rihanna. The music is still great, but she's boxed herself into this category where I feel like her shoots are either extremely sexualized or just nice looking. Where has the creativity gone? Her shoots are always only about showcasing her body. I just want her to think outside the box a bit. To much to ask? But the pictures are amazing though.

Beyonce Covers GQ's "Sexiest Women of the 21st Century" Issue.

Lord help us all. I think 2013 might officially be "The Year of the Beyonce." First the 50 million dollar Pepsi endorsement, then she agrees to headline the Superbowl XLVII half time show, now she takes the cover of GQ's February "100 Sexiest Women of the 21st Century" issue looking like hot sexual chocolate. I just can't with her anymore. I think anyone would be lying if they said they weren't excited or at least curious about her Superbowl Halftime Show. I'll be watching with binoculars.

And two weeks after the Superbowl, she will premiere an HBO documentary that she directed, produced, financed, and narrated about her and her family. (yay Blue Ivy!) Now I have never stanned for Beyonce, but she is drawing me right on in. Why is she so fabulous? And she announced Destiny's Child is dropping an album this year? Sheeet. I'm done.

Well lets talk about the GQ shoot. Photographed by Terry Richardson, Bey poses mainly in cut-off tops and undies. This shoot is playful with football props and shows a more revealing version of the Beyonce we're used to, but I'm liking the look. She couldn't WAIT to show that body off. Not only is she giving us major abs, but is that underboob I see? Is it weird that I want her to turn around? Too much? ;)

Baddie Bey Still Going Strong.

Another round of snazzy photos from Beyonce aka "Baddie Bey"'s Instagram page. Since it's inception, she's kept it rolling with fashionable forward outfits that I personally am not used to seeing Beyonce rocking.Yes, she's always been fashionable, but money brings that. I feel like I can finally see her type of style and personality outside of her music. She's totally improved.

She's been looking hella adorable...and getting all types of crunk. She seems to be rocking a lot of pantsuits and blazers. And half the time she's wearing leather like the unisex leather black sweatpants or the red skinny legs.

Solange and Beyonce at Solo's Bowery Ballroom Show in NYC.

Solange is currently on tour for her latest EP "True" that dropped a couple weeks ago. I've listened to a few tracks and it sounds pretty nice. Plus she looked adorable at her show in all types of retro garb and platform heels. I love that type of stuff.  I wouldn't mind seeing her live and apparently neither would her sister Beyonce.

Bey attended her show at Bowery Ballroom in NYC December 11th wearing a Torn by Ronny Kobo paisley print dress that was hugging those curves. We ain't mad at you girl.

Don't you just love these sisters sistas?

Beyonce Joins Instagram as Baddie Bey.

If you didn't already know, ya girl Beyonce joined Instagram earlier this month, and she has been looking fabulous. More fabulous than usual, I swear.

Her outfits have been the bomb.com. I am really enjoying her pictures. I notice she's wearing a lot of leather, different shades of blue (which I've been feeling this season), baroque prints, statement glasses and hair accessories, and cuff rings on multiple fingers.

Beyonce is just so cute and sweet...and most of all, talented.
Now I just wanna stalk the growth of her child, and we'll be in there.
