Wake Up Mr. West.

I am so tired of being disappointed by Kanye. I have always been a fan, even when he was snatching awards and running off at the mouth about his superiority because I liked his passion. And...he cracked me up. It seems like lately though, he's been a different kind of Kanye. One that has been tap dancing on my nerves.

First it was his Yeezus album and taking Jesus on tour with him. And now here he goes with some other garb. He was spotted leaving Barneys of all places, in this confederate flag coat, and I can't help but wonder why Kanye even gives a damn about the Confederate flag. He isn't from the Confederate South (not that it would give him a pass.) He isn't making a political statement; because what kind of statement would that be? Is he attempting to change the perception of the flag by encouraging black people to embrace it? Probably not. And even if he was, why would black people want to embrace that?

I honestly believe Kanye is just wearing shit to piss people off and get the internet talking (which apparently is working.) It's just that opinionated ass Kanye, of all people, shouldn't be endorsing a flag that literally represented the oppression of black people. This is the same person that was on TV talking about "George Bush doesn't like black people." My nigga, do you?

Kanye my friend....you're doing too much. Get it together.

What do you guys think about the latest Kanye publicity stunt?

$250 For a Plain Sweatshirt Though?

When Kanye's not being a parched drama queen, he's seems to still be a fashion designer. After much curiosity from the fashion world, he's released a line with A.P.C. titled the "Kanye West Collection." Clever name, right?

There are only 7 pieces, all solid basics like t-shirts, sweatshirts, and jeans. Sounds simple enough, but this is Kanye we're talking about. Allow me to drop the bomb on ya: the cheapest item from the Kanye West Collection is all of $120. And that is for a plain dark navy or white short sleeved tee. That t-shirt would have to be threaded with unicorn hair for me to even consider buying it. Certainly not prices for most people, but for those that can afford it,  it looks simple and clean.

Kanye Rocking a Red Ski Mask at Maison Martin Margiela's Paris Show.

Kanye recently made fashion headlines, as always....again, at Maison Martin Margiela's Fashion Show in Paris last week. This time it was all about this frayed red beanie/ ski mask. Now I can't tell if it was bought that way (I haven't seen any that look so DIY'd) or if one of his stylists were feeling adventurous and a little scissor happy. Nevertheless, he's wearing it. And what better place to wear it than a Margiela show, given their love of extreme headwear.

I will say this though: With all the extreme comments I've been reading about Kanye and his outlandish fashion choices, I can't help but want to defend him. Are you going to see me wearing a frayed ski mask on my head? Most likely no. BUT it doesn't look absolutely ridiculous, it looks Kanye. I am so not surprised anymore. He loves fashion just like the rest of us, and this is how he chooses to express himself. It doesn't make him weird, he's just adventurous....and I can't really be mad at that. I mean, it's just a red ski mask.

But anyway, he paired the red mask with an all white outfit, a black overcoat draped like a cape, and tan Visvim mocassin sneakers.

Most Fashionable People of 2012.

A$AP Rocky
I've realized that people try to play A$AP on the fashion tip. Take note
of this young man because he has it. Not only is he talented musically,
but he always looks dope. I feel like he takes major fashion
risks and executes nicely. He also is the only person I allow
to wear his hair like that. :)
Rihanna
'Nuff said
Solange
Hello Solo my doll. I probably featured Solange on
The Pretty Mustache a million times in 2012. Her love of African
inspired prints was fun and fresh. And her natural
hair styles were perfect compliments.
Kanye
I mean really though, nobody else does what Kanye does. As a black
man AND a rapper..shit, as a human, he really stretches the
boundaries of  what's normal...and I love him for it.
Miroslava Duma
This is my girl right here. It never fails, she keep it trill
and always looks like a certified dime fresh off the
runway. I do not want to see her closet. I would
be too upset with my life.

Beyonce
We all know Beyonce is that chick, but I never pegged her as a fashionista
until 2012 where she kinda came out of nowhere killing it. Baddie Bey,
on the Instagram circuit, really showed a new side of herself.
Mama likes.

Art Basel is one of the largest and most prestigious art shows in the world, and subsequently, it attracts art lovers everywhere and whole bag full of celebrities and artists. Celebs like Pharrell, Bey & Jay-Z, Cassie, Kanye, and more.

And of course there were lots of fabulous parties and music shows from the likes of Trinidad James, Danny Brown, and Azealia Banks. Catch me there next year gawking at some fabulous new innovative art piece. With music, art, and fashion, it's like the ultimate good time.

Yeezy Goes Metal.

Earlier this week, Kanye was spotted  in New York at the SOHO Versace store opening wearing some fancy sweatpants, his coveted Air Yeezy II's, and a black leather jacket.

The metalhead sweats, as they've been called, are covered in large metal patches and symbols across the front. There's been lots talk over whether his pants are satanic and what he's representing by wearing them.

Supposedly the Baphomet head over his right knee is some sort of satanic symbol, but I don't know enough about metal and that whole culture to know what his pants are really saying. Not sure if he knows either.

What do you think?

Who's Who of the New York Angel Ball.

Guests gathered at Cipriani Wall Street in New York last night for Gabrielle's Angel Foundation. Celebrity guests included Ashanti and her date Nelly, Angela Simmons, Solange, Estelle, and Kimye among many more. And I think it's safe to say the split is back in full effect. There was lots of sparkle and shine as the guests supported a good cause.
