Lookbook: Maki Oh Spring 2014 RTW.
26 year old Nigerian designer Maki Oh has been making a splash with her fashion forward designs and collections. She was recently nominated for the LVMH Prize, which is an award that acknowledges and reveals 30 young designers, eventually recognizing one designer and 3 fashion school graduates as winners. This year, she was among up-and-coming designers like Shayne Oliver of Hood by Air and womenswear designers Tina & Nikita Sutradhar of MIUNIKU.
For Oh's Spring 2014 Ready to Wear collection, you'll notice shimmering colors of emerald, red, and blue, along with fringe, sheer panels, crop-tops, and amazing bell sleeves. If you'd like to see more from Maki Oh, head over to style.com to check out her latest collection for F/W 2014.

Alexander Wang: RTW Fall 2013.
Pretty sure this is his first runway debut as Creative Director for Balenciaga. Not sure how I feel about the line though. Some of the pieces are great, like the metallicy see through top below, and the interesting all grey sweat suit, but the furry arm things? What is that? I liked most of the pieces as separates but I couldn't wear many of the things the way Wang paired them on the runway. The shoes are quite interesting though.
What do you think?

Fall 2013 Ready-to-Wear: Gryphon.
Now that Fashion Week is among us, I wanted to keep you guys updated the new collections, both popular and a little more low key. New York based clothing label Gryphon was created with the vision of reinventing the classic trench. Gryphon designer and former Vogue fashion writer Aimee Cho is all about functional yet stylish coats and jackets. Her ready to wear collection for Fall '13 is highlighted with fur, vibrant camo print, and twill accents.
Modeled by Betty Adewole, who is adorable by the way, the collection looks fun, fresh, and very "young, cool adult." Check out behind the scene footage of the shoot here on their Tumblr.
