Rising Trend: Top Hats.

Tibi F/W 2014
Back in September 2013, I predicted top hats would come back in style, and here we are today; with them sprinkled all over the 2014 runway. Tibi's recent Fall 2014 collection is filled with structured top hats. They finished many of their monochromatic and layered looks with the simple, yet bold hat.

The masculine bones and structure of this hat are perfect for grounding an outfit and creating a lot of interest. Are you feeling this rising trend?

Stella Jean Fall 2014 RTW.

Stella Jean F/W 2014 RTW
Italian-Haitian designer, Stella Jean is known for taking cultural staples like African-inspired wax prints and hand-woven stripes from Burkina and transforming them into well-tailored pieces with perfect silhouettes. She combines these beautiful ethnic prints with graphic tees and button up’s in a classic yet modern way that only she can perfectly execute.

For Jean’s Fall 2014 Ready to Wear Collection, she introduces Italian crafted prints that were inspired by traditional Japanese art. Jean stated backstage that the Italy-made pieces took an amazing 250 hours to create. Staples of this collection include floor length kimonos, alpaca dusters, beautiful wrap dresses, coats, and bold prints.

You can find more from Stella Jean here.

Street Style: Chanel F/W 2014 at Paris Fashion Week.

There's definitely a certain energy on the streets after a major show like Chanel. You can see high fashion model Cara Delevingne and "it girl" fashionista Miroslava Duma on the scene, among others. Take a look at these shots from outside the Chanel fashion show at Paris Fashion Week F/W 2014.

Fall 2013 Ready-to-Wear: Gryphon.

Now that Fashion Week is among us, I wanted to keep you guys updated the new collections, both popular and a little more low key. New York based clothing label Gryphon was created with the vision of reinventing the classic trench. Gryphon designer and former Vogue fashion writer Aimee Cho is all about functional yet stylish coats and jackets. Her ready to wear collection for Fall '13 is highlighted with fur, vibrant camo print, and twill accents.

Modeled by Betty Adewole, who is adorable by the way, the collection looks fun, fresh, and very "young, cool adult."  Check out behind the scene footage of the shoot here on their Tumblr.

Balenciaga 'Wave' Top

Balenciaga is a genius in fashion. So fun and edgy.

So when they revealed their new futuristic designs for Fall 2012, it was love at first sight for fashionistas all over the world. And during Spring '13 Fashion Week, the 'Wave' Rebel Top was all the rave.

They also have this fine ass German Shepard jacket (pictured below) that is just as I said: FINE.
The Balenciaga Iconic Dog Teddy Jacket retails at $3150. The image, the shape, the leather: It's a winner.

Alexander McQueen Mirrored Transparent Visor.

Alexander McQueen Transparent visor

So I figured out that visor I featured in my New York Fashion Week post  is Alexander McQueen.
The mirrored transparent visor. Very futuristic.

I was pretty curious as to how she could see, but I figured it had to be transparent or she'd be bobbling all around the joint.

For the adventurous, and financially stable, you can buy this piece for $465 here.
Happy shopping.
