Style Post: Mesh & Camo.

Top: ASOS/ Pants: F21 Men / Shoes: GoJane
"Courage is the most important of all the virtues, because without courage you can't practice any other virtue consistently. You can practice any virtue erratically, but nothing consistently without courage." -Maya Angelou
Hey cool kids! It's been a little bit since my last style post, but I'm back. Hope you guys have been doing wonderful things lately. From Kansas City and St. Louis, Mo to Charlottesvile and Roanoke,Va, I've had a busy couple of weeks. And enjoyed every moment of it.

This style post features the true definition of "boyfriend jeans" because they are literally my fiance's pants #ow. I was able to hold up the slim-fit pants with a belt and tuck the excess length into the strap of my shoes. It's a tomboy look, upgraded by heels, and an example of how you can rock the mesh trend.

Peace.

Style Post: Overall Love.

Top: Rue 21 / Overalls: Thrifted / Heels: GoJane
"I was a young woman with an evolved mind who was not afraid of her beauty or her sexuality. For some people that’s uncomfortable. They didn’t understand how female and strong work together. Or young and wise. Or Black and divine." -Lauryn Hill
It's that time of the week again....Monday! For most of us that means it's time to get back to work, but for bloggers, work never stops. I took advantage of the beautiful weather this past weekend, and styled these thrifted overalls. I really like the way the outfit came together, though a solid color crop top in the same style would look great as well.

Overalls have grown in popularity this year, with the denim trend booming, but I generally see them styled in only one way. And that's form fitting pants-overalls with a nice top and heels. I prefer the baggier style more reminiscent of the 90's, so when I found these at the thrift store, excitement level was on 10. Check out more pics after the link and let me know what you think!

Are you loving the recent denim trend? How do you style your overalls?

Style Post: Future Black Belt.

T-shirt: Thrift store DIY / Skirt: F21 / Jellies: Go Jane / Purse: MMS
"We cannot think of being acceptable to others until we have first proven acceptable to ourselves" -Malcolm X
Preach, Brother Malcolm. I wrote this whole little spiel about black people and how we need to start unifying and holding each other accountable for the desperate state of things in our communities, and then I remembered...this is a fashion blog. (I'll leave that to my Twitter account.)

So let's talk fashion. This is one of those outfits I'd piece together when going to a music event like a festival or concert, anything late night, or if I'm running around in the city. This was a full length t-shirt until I cut it into a crop top. With the crop top trend still going strong, I suggest you head to the thrift store, find an interesting graphic tee in the women or kids section, and cut it to your liking. It's a cheap and easy way to get a unique crop top. Additionally, yal aren't going to be able to stop me from wearing these jellies this spring and summer. I have a black and nude pair and I'm prepared to wear them with pretty much everything I own...at any given moment. #itsjellyseason

If you have any questions or comments about what I'm wearing or need any styling tips, please drop me a comment below!

Peace.

Style Post: Peter Pilotto x Target Look 4.

Top: Peter Pilotto / Shorts: Thrifted / Socks: Urban Outfitters / Shoes: Go Jane
"I like being a woman, even in a man’s world. After all, men can’t wear dresses, but we can wear the pants." - Whitney Houston
Here's the final look that I styled around my Peter Pilotto two-tone floral t-shirt. I still can't get over how reasonable the prices for this collection were. With the reds, blues, and white, there are a ton of ways you can style this top. I chose to complement the colors by wearing high-waisted blue shorts, over-the-knee socks, and black jellies.

Socks & sandals are something I've never shied away from, so when I got these jellies in the mail the other day, it was basically go time in my mind. I'm so excited 90's fashion is a big enough deal that they're selling jellies again. Because Lordt knows I used to have a clear pair with glitter that I couldn't get enough of.

To check out each of my previous looks that I styled from the PP x Target collection, follow these links: Look 1, Look 2, Look 3.

Cheers :)

Style Post: TDE Show.

Jacket & dress: F21/ Tights: Ebay / Shoes: GoJane
"Hip-Hop isn't just music, it is also a spiritual movement of the blacks! You can't just call Hip-Hop a trend."- Lauryn Hill
This is what I'll be wearing to the Schoolboy Q / Isaiah Rashad show tonight in DC. When I think of concert outfits, I think of outfits like this: cool, but comfortable. Here are a few tips I have for getting dressed for a concert with a hip-hop crowd:

1. Wear flats. Just do it. There's nothing worse than the girl in the bathroom with her shoes off.
2. Dress for the occasion. Hip hop shows can be grimy, so don't show up in your absolute best clothes.
3. In the winter, rock a short bodycon dress with a leather jacket. Throw some tights on and call it a night.
4. In the summer, go for crop tops, short shorts, or rompers. Or a cool graphic tee.
5. And most importantly, vibe out.

Dope Shoe Alert: Don't Be Jelly!

Jellies were certainly a part of my childhood style. I had a few different pairs, but the clear ones with glitter were always thebomb.com in my eyes. So any time I see jellies being sold, I'm instantly excited.  And with the recent boom of the 90's fashion scene, jellies are almost a requirement.

The important part though? They're only $13 at GoJane.com. Say whaa? Yes, children, $13. #getfamiliar

Fall in Love With Straps.

Go Jane Shoe Haul.

Straps, straps, straps! I have a serious strap infatuation going on right now, and all of these gorgeous shoes feature at least one statement strap. I'm especially fond of the tie-up python heels, which come in about 4 colors. It's a super popular style this season, and the prices over at GoJane are really unbeatable.

“You never have to change anything you got up in the middle of the night to write.” -Saul Bellow

I get random bursts of inspiration where I just have to do something...anything. Whether it's painting, writing, styling outfits, taking pictures, etc...I just have to find a way to express myself. So at about 11pm Saturday night, I felt the need to have a photo shoot. Thankfully, I have a nice fiance that doesn't mind taking pictures for me.

Jacket: H&M / Skirt: Forever 21 / Shirt: Cupcake Mafia / Shoes: Go Jane
Hello world, Leslie here.

Hope you guys had a great Thanksgiving. It's been too long since I've put up a personal style post. Sorry the pics are a little blurry, but they were taken with my less than ideal iphone camera. :) I'm wearing an H&M moto jacket, a Cupcake Mafia T's crop top, a checkerboard Forever 21 skirt (which I adore), and black heels with clear PVC from GoJane.com.

The Look for Less: Valentino Studded T-Strap Pumps.

Valentino Rock Stud Sling Back Pumps cost about $895. Now if you have $895 for a pair of trendy pumps, go you. But if not, let me offer an alternative via GoJane.com. I knew Go Jane would have some Valentino-esque shoes soon because they keep up with the trends like no other. And here they are folks.

The Go Jane heels are faux nubuck with studded cross straps  You can find them here for only $35. Now that's a steal in red, black, and nude.  They even have a flat version. So if you fancy the Valentino joints, but don't have Valentino money, click the link above and get your entire shoe groove on.

Peace,
Leslie

The Look For Less: Tall Gladiator Sandals.

Have you been looking for cheap tall gladiator sandals? Well you've come to the right place. Super tall gladiator sandals are the perfect head turners for Summer. Gladiator sandals have been popular for years, but they are definitely a hot item right now with Kourtney Kardashian , Rihanna, and Mary Kate Olsen rocking them. And now you can too...without breaking the bank.

These $32.50 sandals are being sold at one of my favorite online stores Go Jane.com. They are a new addition to the site, and will definitely sell out fast. If you're interested, get on it. I got my pair. :) There's a similar pair being sold at the same price, but they're barely in stock now.

Peace.

Geometry for That Ass.

Heel-less booties w/ geometric shapes.

These geometric heel-less platforms are the bees knees.
I think that at $99, they're definitely priced in a range that I can not be mad at either.

If you're digging these, you can find them here.

Catch the Blues.

The Blues

1. Wild West Top 2. Suede Ankle Boots 3. Dr. Martens Boots 4.Sparkle and Fade Peplum Dress 5. Two-tone Jeans 6. Midnight Metallic Pants 7. Glitter Pants 8. Cambridge Satchel Co. 11" Satchel

This fall/ winter season you should get into the moody color of blue. I like the deeper cobalt blues this time of year. It plays into all the jewel tones like the burgundys and emeralds we've seen become popular this season.

Popular color combinations are blue and black and blue... with more blue. Just pair different shades of blue all in one outfit, head to toe.
