New York Day 1: The Engagement.

I went to New York last week and had the absolute time of my life. I hadn't been back to New York since I was a child, and Amanze planned an amazing week for us in the Big Apple! First things first, I got my hair cut off. "the big chop" I had been transitioning for like 6 months and that shit had to go. Plus I was really excited to see my natural curl pattern, since I hadn't been without a relaxer since I was a kid.

That was the first thing. Then, my best friend and boyfriend of 3 1/2 years proposed to me in an art gallery and I said yes. Then we had an amazing night. Definitely one of the best, most unforgettable days of my life. Love you Smook! :)

Style Post: Amanze's Born Day.

We had a fantastic day for my boyfriend's birthday. We went to the VA Art Museum, hung out in the new art district, had good eats, and played a little pool. A chill, great day in Richmond, VA.

My dress is a vintage black dress with vibrant gold embroidery. Made in Egypt, and I loved every minute of wearing it because its also so comfortable. Amanze also went the comfy route. Check out more photos below.
