Artsi Ifrach of Art/C.

Artsi Ifrach is a Moroccan/ Israeli designer with a gift for creating on-of-a-kind pieces with bold prints and ethnic flair. He is a self taught designer, and a definite inspiration for anyone with aspirations of  being a designer, regardless of formal training. Under the label Art/C, he's shown in 3 Paris Fashion Weeks. This editorial was shot in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It's gorgeous to say the least, and I'm most definitely in love with the models and their hair. Powerful and beautiful.

The WIVES Collection Inspired by Fela Kuti.

Nigerian-born knitwear designer Buki Akib has created a line of handbags inspired by Fela Kuti and his 27 wives.The WIVES collection has rich woven details, tassels, and eclectic patterns. The bags are named after some of his wives, and designed to compliment their personalities and capture their essence. (They must be the popular girls out of the wives crew.)

Buki uses traditional Yoruba hand weaving with cotton and leather of South Western Nigeria for her bags. A little expensive, but still totally affordable if you're really feeling the collection.
