It's cool that he tried something new and was creative. Regardless of your opinions of the show, it was at least an attempt at diversity. I think the clothes ended up looking a little "meh" though. Some of the pieces came off a bit frumpy and thrown together....I swear there were a few potato sacks in there. This also did not read Spring to me at all. But again, it was interesting and a change of pace, so I'm not mad at it.
Watch the full show below and let me know what you think of it.
I respect the overt attempt in diversity, even the strong artistic approach to a fashion "show". However, there was very little "fashion" and I simply HATED IT! *Two snaps down* lol... I would seriously grade Rick Owen's line a D-. I took away the F only because it was at least entertaining.
ReplyDeleteNow maybe I was thrown off by the cheap looking "potato sack" material, faces of the "steeepppers/moooodeels" (and I use those terms loosely), or even the ill-form/execution of their steps and blades (or all of the above), but it was still NOT great.
Better luck next time Owen. In the meantime, you can find me in a Danilo Gabrielli's Subway napkin dress. Even that dress was more appealing to me than Owen's entire line. Yikes!

Girl. I agree! The fashion was lacking....like no way I would want to wear any of that. And yea, if you're about to do a step show, better be sure you kill it. (They were lowkey sloppy and I don't know how to feel about it)
DeleteI also wondered why the models had to be thicker. If he wanted to showcase black women, it would have been cool if he had some tight girls up there killing it. Just saying.
And I googled that napkin dress and got weak. You would, lol.
